The Start

I've always wanted to make a quilt. I remember when I was little, there was a quilt at my Granny's that I wrapped up in when I felt bad. It was special because it had been made by another grandmother of mine.

When I was pregnant with Parker I knew I'd be saving clothes to make him a quilt. I wanted all of the special and meaningful clothes to be treasured. How could they be looked at and remembered if they were stuck in a box? I saved the clothes that had meaning for me and did just that. I stuck them in a box.

I started the same collection with Emma...it's much bigger. I never did anything with them, just set them aside for that day when I'd have time to make those quilts. Stuck them in boxes. Until tonight!

Tonight I went through all of those clothes of Emma's. I decided what I wanted in the quilt and that any usable fabric left over would go into ministry blankets.

I began with a nightgown, I cut the fabric at the seams trying to save as much as I could. I'm hopeful, I think it's going to work...now I just have to get my sewing machine set up correctly!

For now though, I'm going to rest these tired hands. Have a blessed night dear friends.
